Wardlow AB: Victoria Hett of Vernon, BC, ventured to Odessa Washington where she challenged the ladies class in an event of over 1500 riders. The Desert 100 began in 1969 and has grown into an event of over 3000 people.
After some testing to adjust her Valley Motosports Husaberg TE 250 to the faster speeds of the desert, Victoria gated in the top 10 out of nearly 800 riders on the line. After working her way through the pack, her luck nearly took a turn for the worse, high siding off of a hidden rock in the silt. After regaining her composure, Victoria pushed herself back into a comfortable pace and took the victory in the Ladies Class. Taking the win by over six half minutes, this victory was redemption after running in 1st place last year and running out of gas less than 10 miles from the finish!
This is Victoria’s third podium in three events and her first win of the season. Her efforts would not be possible without the support of these sponsors: Husaberg Canada, Valley Moto Sports, Gamma Sales, Husaberg Canada, Valley Moto Sports, Gamma Sales, FLY Racing, Dragon Goggles, Emperor Racing, Atlas Brace Technologies, ProMoto Billet, FMF, Warp 9, Dunlop Tires, TM DesignWorks, SIDI, USWE Sports, Shorai Batteries, Matrix Concepts, RynoPower Sports Supplements, Fasst Company, Motorex, Advanced Pavement Technologies, HiTech Bracing, PG Graphics, Riders Edge Suspension, Rekluse Canada, and Twin Air.
Victoria’s next event will be the PNWMA’s Big Kahuna VI in Kamloops BC, April 21, 2013.

Five-Time motorcycle land speed record holder sets new track record during her first appearance at Texas Mile.
(Scottsdale, AZ) – March 28, 2013 – Valerie Thompson, owner/driver of Valerie Thompson Racing (VTR), set a new 1000 cc class record with a personal best top speed of 212 mph during her first appearance at the Texas Mile race March 22-24 in Beeville Texas. Thompson’s record run also earned her BMW S 1000 RR Superbike entry into the prestigious “Texas Mile 200 MPH Club.”
“What an excellent way to start 2013 for all the great sponsors who made our BMW a real track terror. During the winter months, we really got the bike dialed-in with new HP Race Parts, new riding gear, MS Production race parts and even a new paint scheme from Orlando Autobody. After arriving in Texas, we only needed gear changes to adapt to changing weather conditions. Now we just need some additional funding to race a full season,” stated Thompson.
Texas Mile attendance has grown rapidly since 2003, with participants from around the world competing on one of the world’s most challenging 1-mile track. “My hats off to the Texas Mile staff and Christian Motorcycle Association volunteers who put on a well-managed event. I’d also like to thank my dedicated crew, we can’t wait to return in October for the next Texas Mile competition,” said Thompson.

Light weight batteries provide performance advantage for racers and recreational riders
Irvine, CA (February 5, 2013) – Shorai batteries are the unrivaled choice for dirt bikes equipped with an electric starter. Shorai batteries are 70-80% lighter than lead-acid batteries commonly used in dirt bikes and provide faster cranking for quick starts and re-starts, which are common in EnduroCross. The GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series is pleased to name Shorai as the official battery of the 2013 EnduroCross season.
“A lot of the EnduroCross racers are using electric start bikes and the Shorai batteries are a perfect fit. Saving weight while boosting the cranking power for re-starts are a huge benefit since even the best riders tip over in EnduroCross” said Lance Bryson, Director of Sales and Marketing for EnduroCross.
“EnduroCross is such an exciting sport and a perfect place to showcase the benefits of Shorai batteries” stated Kevin Riley, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Shorai. “We are looking forward to working with the EnduroCross team to help spread the awareness of Shorai”.

Congratulations to Team Faith one of the newest teams we are sponsoring for the 2013 season. Below is their latest race report.
From Brian O’Rourke the team President:
Team Faith had a better night of racing on Saturday night in Worcester Massachusetts on the AMA Amsoil Arenacross series when it was LIVE on SPEED! Both Kelly Smith and Jeff Gibson had good heat races finishing second and third respectively. Both guys then qualified for the head to head bracket racing, which is new this season. In the first bracket they had to race each other! Gibby came out on top and went all the way to the finals with defending AX Champ Tyler Bowers. In the 2 lap sprint Gibby got the win and was also awarded one point towards the Overall and the Championship. In the Main Event #1, Gibby rode hard and strong to finish fourth and Kelly finished fifth. Unfortunately with the new format on Arenacross, the entire field was inverted for the Main Event #2 putting both guys on the back row for the start. Gibby came back to get an eighth place finish. Kelly had a harder time finishing 14th. Gibby finished fourth overall and Kelly finished 11th overall for the night. In the championship points Jeff Gibson sits 6th and Kelly Smith is tied for 8th.
Ministry was VERY strong for the opening round of AX as we had the honor of partnering with a great band called Jones Unleashed. They not only did worship for us as a team in our rig whenever we had a moment, but they also lead worship both nights for Team faith devotionals and even got the opportunity to play for the Track Party in front of thousands of fans!
I’m really proud of all our guys this season including newbie Jeff Gibson and his Dad Dan Gibson who will be overseeing Jeff’s bike for us as well. We have a strong team – mentally, physically and spiritually!
